Help Stop Abortion

Help stop abortion by becoming personally involved, or nothing will change:

  1. Educate yourself first, then make sure others know about the harms of abortion too.
  2. Write to anti-life organizations such as planned parenthood. You can also write your newspapers, TV, radio, etc.
  3. Vote for officials who are pro-life, and will help to stop the problem.

Medical Issues Related to Abortion

Complications are possible with any medical procedure, but the most common medical issue when dealing with abortion is the chance of infection. Infection after an abortion can be a serious issue and even become life-threatening. Other problems could be excessive bleeding and damage to the uterus, where the baby develops, causing a woman to have issues having a baby later in life. Some think an alternative is to take the "abortion pil'," a drug called mifepristone that blocks the production of the hormone in a woman that is necessary for development of the baby.

Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice

As you may know, to be pro-life is to be strongly opposed to abortion and have the belief that abortion is murder. People who are pro-choice are in favor of abortion rights and think that a women has the right to do what she wants with her body. There are some people with moderate views who feel that there are ways an abortion can be justified. The three basic issues are the stage of the fetus when the abortion takes place, the rights of the fetus and the woman, and whether it is worse to have the harms of restricting abortion or to have the loss of life caused by abortion.
